I am a ceramic artist, throughout this site you will see various pieces of my work, some are for sale and some were made as commissions. At any time you are most welcome to contact me.If you are interrested, my work is very well priced and may be discussed as they are sometimes open to reductions.
The pieces you will see on this web site are made with my hands and my br
ain and psyche, so each piece is a one off original and absolutely unique piece so may vary in size/colour. I have a fundamental need to produce things of beauty and to bring a smile on the viewer face.
I like variety in life and cannot see me reproducing the same piece over & over again, so some pieces are denoting me as a ceramic figurative artist, which is when I have a live model who kindly sits for days on end so that I may achieve a pleasing result. Other times I feel like making ceramic sculptures which may be based on nature or use my throwing skills as a clay pottery artist and actually make food vessels.
I enjoy extending my creative horizons and don’t always know where this will lead me to. This is you will note when browsing through the web site as it displays an array of my work.
Using clay makes me happy and particularly so
when I am throwing on the wheel, so most of my work is thrown and then manipulated. It is a thrill to find that a piece of our earth can be made into a piece of art, driven by my own hands and mind, even if the effect I visualised is not always what materialised. So many aspects such as the surface texture, type of clay, coulouration, glazing and firing
controls many decisions regarding the final outcome.
